Part 5: Sharing the Freedom You’ve Found

In the final part of our series, we’ll focus on the importance of sharing the freedom you’ve found in Jesus with others. As I conclude my personal story, I’ll discuss how God called me to use my testimony to impact the lives of those around me. We’ll explore the Great Commission, the power of personal testimony, and practical ways to encourage others to find their own freedom in Christ. This part is about taking what you’ve received and spreading it to a world in need.

When I look back on my journey to finding freedom in Christ, I realize that it wasn’t just for me. Yes, it was a personal transformation, a radical change in my life, but it was also the beginning of a new purpose—a purpose that went beyond my own healing and redemption. God didn’t just set me free to keep that freedom to myself; He set me free so that I could share it with others.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to share the gospel—the good news of what Christ has done for us. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gives His disciples the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

For me, this call became very real as I began to experience the freedom that comes with walking in Christ. It wasn’t enough to just keep it to myself. I felt a deep, burning desire to share my story with others—to let them know that no matter how far they’ve fallen, no matter what they’ve done, there is hope and healing in Jesus.  Thus, the birth of Restored Warriors.

Sharing your testimony can be a powerful way to impact others. People are drawn to stories of real change, stories that they can relate to and see themselves in. When I started sharing my testimony, I was amazed at how many people responded—not because I had all the answers, but because they saw a glimpse of God’s grace in my life.

When sharing your testimony, remember that it’s not about you; it’s about what God has done in you. Be honest about your struggles, but also be clear about the transformation that has taken place. Focus on the hope and freedom that Christ offers, and let your story be a testament to His power and love.

Here are some practical tips for sharing your testimony to an individual or a crowd:

Be Authentic: Don’t try to sugarcoat your story or make it sound more dramatic than it is. People respond to authenticity, so be real about where you’ve been and how God has brought you through it.
Keep It Focused: Your testimony is a powerful tool, but it’s important to keep the focus on what God has done rather than getting lost in the details of your past. Highlight the key moments that led to your transformation and emphasize the impact of God’s grace in your life.
Connect with Your Audience: Consider who you’re speaking to and how your story might resonate with them. Tailor your testimony to meet them where they are, using language and examples that will connect with their experiences.
Point to Jesus: Ultimately, your testimony is about pointing others to Jesus. Make sure that the focus remains on Him—His love, His sacrifice, and His ability to change lives. Encourage your listeners to seek Him for themselves and to experience the same freedom you’ve found.
It’s Your Story: Some may not need to hear the full extent of your transformation, some may only need limited details.  No one can force you to tell your story.  It’s your story, you tell what you are comfortable with and don’t feel pressured to tell what you aren’t comfortable with.  It’s your story to tell, not someone else’s.

As I began to share my story, I realized how powerful it could be to encourage others who were struggling in similar ways. My testimony wasn’t just a tale of redemption; it was an invitation for others to step into the freedom that Christ offers.

One of the most impactful things you can do is to come alongside someone who is struggling and offer them hope. Share how Christ has changed your life, and invite them to explore what He can do in theirs. Be there to listen, to pray, and to guide them as they take their own steps toward freedom.

Remember, you don’t have to have all the answers or be a perfect example. What matters is your willingness to share what God has done in your life and to walk with others as they begin their own journey.

As I conclude my personal story, I want to share one final reflection. After God set me free from the chains of my past, He began to open doors for me to share my testimony in ways I never imagined. I was in awe of how God was using my story to help so many people in Restored Warriors.  God also gave me privilege’s where I spoke to small groups, shared in one-on-one conversations, and even had opportunities to speak to larger audiences. Each time, I was humbled by how God used my story—my brokenness and redemption—to touch the hearts of others.

But the most powerful moments came when I saw people begin to take their own steps toward freedom in Christ. Watching someone else find the hope and healing that only Jesus can offer has been one of the greatest joys of my life. It’s a reminder that God’s work in us is never just for us—it’s for His glory and for the good of others.

As you reflect on this final part of the series, I encourage you to think about how you can share the freedom you’ve found in Christ with others. Who in your life needs to hear your story? How can you use your testimony to encourage and uplift those around you who are struggling?

Maybe it’s a friend who is going through a tough time, a family member who feels lost, or even a stranger who crosses your path. Whoever it may be, know that your story has the power to bring hope, healing, and transformation. God can use your journey to touch hearts and change lives, just as He has done with mine.

As you prepare to share your testimony, remember to pray for guidance and boldness. Ask God to open doors for you to speak, and to give you the words that will resonate with those who hear. Trust that He will use your story in ways you may never expect, and that He will continue to lead you as you walk in the newness of life He has given you.

In the end, sharing your story is about pointing others to the One who has changed your life. It’s about inviting them to experience the same freedom, forgiveness, and grace that you have found in Christ. So go out with confidence, knowing that God is with you, and that your story is a powerful testimony to His love and redemption.

Thank you for joining me on this journey through the steps to finding freedom in Jesus Christ. My hope and prayer are that these reflections have encouraged you, challenged you, and inspired you to take your own steps toward the abundant life that God has for you. May you continue to walk in His love, share His truth, and live in the freedom that only He can provide.

Remember, I love you and I’m always here to talk, listen and help in any way that I can.
